The Grand Canyon in Twilight
On this trip to the Grand Canyon I got caught in a winter storm that dropped almost a
foot of snow. We arrived early to get a good spot at Yavapai Point I was there long
before anyone else arrived and got the good spot farthest out on the walkway. At
Sunrise it was a frigid -11 degrees. I was so cold when I finished shooting my sunrise
Photographs my legs were numb below the knees.
My Favorite time to do Photography is in the Twilight. Snow really glows in the Twilight
and everything looks surreal... If you look at the far away ledge near the bottom, you can
see the trail where they ride the donkeys down to the Colorado River. Then if you look to
the right and down a bit you can just catch a glimpse of the Colorado River.
It's amazing how photographs don't really capture the immenseness, the awesomeness,
the grandiosity of this incomparable place...
And the rush of adrenaline when you stand near the edge...
Over the next few days I will feature Photographs of the Grand Canyon from this Vantage
Point and I as I walked the trail towards Hopi House all in HDR.
