Mariposa Forest of the Giant Sequoias in Yosemite with Photographer
One of my most memorable experiences in all my life was visiting these gigantic
Sequoias in the Mariposa Forest in Yosemite. This is shot of me attempting to hug one of
these huge trees in front of Galen Clarks "Big Tree Cabin" in the heart of the grove.
The Sequoias are the second oldest living things next to the bristle cone pines that I have
found at the top of Mt. Evans outside of Denver and at Galena Pass in Idaho (Pictures to
be on Blog Soon). They grow quickly and can reach heights of 250 to 250 feet. The
oldest estimated to be 3800 years Old. The bark of these trees feels like shredded paper,
it makes these giants fireproof. strange enough they have one of
the smallest seeds and Pine cones.

You cannot but stand in awe of these Giants, one of the many incredible sights in
Yosemite National Park.
A must see...
