This is my favorite Photograph of my Dearest Lori Carbin (In Memoriam 1960-2008). We were with all the nieces at Busch Gardens Howl-o-Scream. As we walked thru this one area of the park. There was hundreds of yards of fog. Scary Creatures jumping out of the Fog, Left and Right. The lighting was really cool. Lori was always reluctant to get her picture taken, Except if it was something artistic.

This Photographer at Half Dome - admiring the Awesomeness of the view during the Fog - Yosemite National Park, CA

It was Ansel Adams who first inspired the world to see Half-Dome and Visit Yosemite. We have all looked at his famous Photographs of this place. If you have never been to Yosemite, you truly cannot grasp the unfathomable beauty and Awesomeness of this place. No matter how many photographs you have seen.

There is one thing that is an Absolute. Yosemite is unique in all the world, Just like America the Beautiful. Both, places like no other. We are fortunate to live in this great land were our ancestors had the foresight to save such a place for all of posterity and to those who have served in our Armed Forces, who fought, so we all can enjoy such a place in Freedom. A place all of humanity can enjoy.

On this Veterans day, We thank all of those who have sacrificed for our Great Nation. To all who serve or have served our great nation, Thank You…

Good Morning Sunshine on the Mt Jumbo Trail, Douglas Island.

The Mount Jumbo trail is very tough hike (Almost Climbing), it’s almost straight up the side of the mountain with many obstacles and mud holes to traverse. It’s worth it to the hardy, it is breath taking, gorgeous, with forest cathedrals, mountain meadows and spectacular views. It’s just .25 miles from Rob’s House. This Sunrise Hike was the toughest he ever attempted.
The trail is 5 miles round trip with an elevation gain of 3300 plus feet.

When He got to the top, it was foggy and this awesome god light was passing Through the trees…

Pure Gold in the Fog, The Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco

When you think of San Francisco, you think of fog. The two are practically synonyms.

On this particular night, we arrived at The Golden Gate Bridge just after dark. The Fog was starting to roll in and was just touching the top of the bridge. At first I thought the towers that support the suspension cables were the worlds largest gold ingots. This particular night the bridge, The fog bank rolling in, and the water all looked like they were made of Pure Gold…

I was only able to take a few shots before the fog covered the bridge. That’s San Francisco…

God Light in the Fog - Glacier Point - Yosemite

Continuing my Fog series. Todays Shot is from the Yosemite National Park.

When Mom and I took a fall trip to Yosemite. My second favorite spot in the Park was Glacier Point in front of Half Dome. The views of the Valley are Awesome, abundant wildlife at every turn, Tall Trees that seem to touch the Heavens.

This particular day we have had an amazing Twilight and Sunrise in the Fog. The fog was coming in waves. One minute sunshine, the next zero visibility, the next a mix of the two and this wonderful God light piercing the trees. What a feast for the eyes. Mom being the resident Fog expert was roaming the forest and captured this shot…

Crane Creek Valley in the Moonlight - Covered by Fog - Yosemite

Everywhere in the Yosemite national Park are these winding Mountain Roads with no railings. The road home to our Crane Flat Campgrounds (near the top of a mountain Pass) was one of these very steep roads. It went from the Valley up the side of the mountain. It was quite an exhilarating ride home every night.

This particular night, Fog had engulfed the Yosemite Valley. Heading home as we climbed above 6000 feet, we noticed we were above the Fog in the Moonlight. What a Sight. Those trees are the 100 foot tall variety down there in the fog. I put the Daylight shot at the Bottom of this post, compare the two. It was really Cool seeing such a sight. Notice To the left is an open area with a Large log cabin, It puts the immenseness in perspective. The barren tree in front of both Photos is a 50 footer.
