Petrified Tree Roots with the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse, NC
I managed to get to Cape Hatteras Lighthouse for a Twilight / Sunrise
shot. My first ever shoot at sunrise. I got up at 4:30am and headed 48
miles to south traveling on these impossibly long, narrow, low, scary
in windy conditions bridges. Circa 1960’s at newest. To the Outer Banks
on the Atlantic Coast
I was having visions of how I remember Florida was just like this when
we were kids. Driving south nothing but big sand dunes, lots of birds,
real Lighthouses at every corner, simply Beautiful, Stunning !!!
You can see her spinning from miles and miles away.
While exploring around the Park south of the Lighthouse I Found this beautiful perfectly still lake. I parked it here for rest of my brief visit!!!
When I began to explore I saw the Lighthouse off in the distance with the roots of this petrified tree in the middle. There were lots of these trees. Evidence of the merciless weather that befalls this area of the outer banks of North Carolina…
