Turtle Head Peak - Red Rocks Canyon, Las Vegas Nevada
Las Vegas is a very beautiful place. I love it there, because no matter where your passions lie, it’s Vegas Baby, there is something there for everyone. The photographic opportunities are limitless. Once you reach the edge of the Valley and head up into the mountains, some of Mother Nature’s most spectacular scenery awaits you.
Over the next 10 Days, I intend to showcase The Red Rocks Canyon, an often Photographed Spot during a ferocious storm that dropped pea sized Hail and Snow during our visit. This storm later in the week spawned many Tornado’s and wrecked the Midwest.
Red Rocks Las Vegas is a great place to Hike, hang out or Enjoy a Picnic. I Climbed all over the place on my way down the Turtlehead peak trail. When I was there I discovered and Photographed a cave Loaded with Pertroglyphs and Pictographs. It has Some of the most unusual rock formations, all very easy to climb.
This Photograph showcases the Turtle Head Peak (6,324 / 1927m) and Trail (5mi [8km])of same name starting point at the Sandstone quarry. if you look at the center of the photograph a little to the left you can see some of the stones quarried here between 1905 and 1912 at the Excelsior stone Quarry. The Storm was just starting to roll in and the Skies were Angry. My favorite time to do Photography…
