Black Skimmers Banking Over Pool of Tadpoles - Largo Botanical Gardens, FL
The Black Skimmers are an incredibly fascinating bird to watch. When ever I have seen them. There has been a mating pair flying gracefully over the ponds, scooping up fish and tadpoles with their unusually long lower beaks. They work in a perfectly choreographed pattern. I also noticed they have cat like vertical pupils. These two features make them unique in all the Bird world.
And they put on a helluva great show…
